WIW: For a cool morning

I dressed this morning for the predicted high in the 80°s, donning my handknit asymmetrical burgundy tank, jeans and sandals. And then I realized [near-daily headaches have my foggy-brained, but that's why I was leaving the house] that we've been having some cool mornings lately. I checked the current temp, and realized I didn't want to go outside in 53° weather without sleeves. So I added my jean jacket, and rolled its sleeves.

Of course, it was up to 70° by the time I got home less than an hour later, but still.

I had DH snap the photos when I was picking up my son before heading home after my appointment, hence the unusual backdrop. And I promise my face isn't actually fuchsia.

I'm almost giddy that it's nearly layering weather, for real!

Thoughts, suggestions? How would you improve this?

Awwww... how cute! This is such a relaxed, casual, fun outfit. I really like the darker tee under the jacket and the rolled up sleeves. Also, very practical footwear choice for a day out & about!
And i'm loving the green in the background....nothing as gorgeous as plants!

You look great......perfect MOTG outfit - fun, practical, comfortable and relaxed. The denim jacket with rolled sleeves looks like a good choice.....I will have to try that out myself soon!

I envy you the 'almost layering weather' :(

I like a denim on denim look, and this works well.

That asymmetrical tank is great! I like that your denim doesn't quite match.

We had a day much like yours today. It was 48° when we got up this morning and 90° when school let out. Makes it really hard to dress appropriately!

This is a great look and will be just as good with booties instead of sandals as the weather cools.

Layers are a great way to go this time of year.  Your denim looks great--how about adding on a cool scarf if you want extra pizzaz?  And maybe some wedge sandals.

Great look! I would add some jewellery because I can never resist it. A bracelet or necklace in this case.

That asymmetrical tank is awsome. The denim looks great.

I love burgundy for late summer --- and it looks great with the denim supporting act.

Great outfit. I love the asymmetrical top. Also, I'm jealous of your need for a jacket. We're still having hellishly hot weather. The high today was 96F.

    Thank you, everyone!

Jenn, Yes, it's tough to find an outfit for a whole day with that kind of a temperate range! Since I was just going out for a little bit, this worked. And after that, I removed the jacket and was fine.

Joy, you've got me thinking about how to take this tank further into cool weather. I don't think I'd like to need this jacket all day; it's stiff enough I don't think I'd be comfortable in it all day long, but much cooler and I might not be comfortable taking it off, without sleeves. But maybe ... I've seen a few looks lately of layering that I might be able to pull off, wearing something underneath this tank. Oh, and I don't own booties, but I do own boots, at this point.

LavenderMoon, if I can figure out how to get some sleeves added, a scarf might at some point get added as it really gets cooler. But I would have been sad to cover up the asymmetrical neckline of the top with a scarf. I don't have any wedges, but I've been contemplating some platform shoes ...

Brooklyn, I'm sure jewelry would work, but I'm not much of a jewelry person, apparently. I've always got my wedding ring, and specs, and sometimes I add earrings (which would have worked here, if I had appropriate ones). I just didn't think of it yesterday. :)

JAileen, It's certainly not normal here either, yet! Even when we have cooler summers, it's usually blazing hot for the state fair, so we'll see what next week brings.
