WIW, the first

I found this site last week, and was immediately down the rabbit hole, consumed. The reading I did that day (last Tuesday, I think) gave me the idea to pair this (hand crocheted, years ago) skinny scarf for both the somewhat bolder color and maybe a hint of a V over the pastel (I realized I've kind of quit wearing pastels, which I used to look fab in; maybe I'm just over it, or maybe my hair darkening has made them less ideal?) crew neck, which I wasn't very happy with when I donned it.

I put the scarf on to take the tot and head to a friend's house for a play date slash knitting and adult conversation time.

Did my fix work, at least partially? Other thoughts?

(I'm still figuring out how to take pix if they happen after DH leaves for work ...)

I like the V that the scarf creates over the sweater.  The visually lowered neckline and the nice V shape is really flattering on you, I think.

And I think Angie's said that pastels are on their way back in force, so we'll probably start seeing and wearing them more in the next few months... :)

    Congrats on your first WIW!

Cute outfit! I think the pastels look really nice with your soft coloring, and the hand-crocheted scarf is lovely. I'm always envious of people with crafting skills.

Congratulations on your first WIW!  I really like the two purples together, and handmade scarves are always nice.

I think the V is very flattering. I've been thinking of trying something similar with a pendant on my higher-necked tops, to create the feel of a v-neck. Yours looks good! Welcome.

Thanks all! (Sorry for the late response; I read them all pretty much in real time, but life is crazy and I didn't have the energy or hands (hello, toddler) to craft response(s).

Love the colours on you & yay for handmade accessories! :D How clever of you to fix the neckline: I didn't realise it was a crewneck until I read the description. I've gotten very into knitting recently and am thus terribly jealous of your knitting buddy; I don't know any local ones.

    Thanks, E!

Knitting friends are relatively new for me, but I'm loving having them, for sure! Do you have a local yarn store? They often have weekly or at least regular knit nights, where even if they're not your deal, you might meet someone you click with.
